heard my mates decatted focus st and fuck me, sounds awesome

so what's the rules with getting one?

as it's not 3 years old yet i don't need an MOT or anything so emissions don't bother me right now.

can i only get done by VOSA?

they are cheaper than sport cat's and moneys tight at the moment (saving for house + xmas time coming) so i'm not sure if it's worth the risk

yeah 'coz that helps innit bruv

only joking mate. i do wanna get one but just don't want the idea backfiring on me

also, will it be very loud still with the O.E. exhaust on? as i work shifts and i can't see my parents/neighbours being very happy when i pull on the drive at 6:45 in the morning

main worry about it is the police and then vandalism to the car from people down my road due to noise.

vandalism due to noise. if that was the case i would be ruined.

you dont need a mot untill the car is three years old, and when you do just got the cat fitted for the mot and change it back, tbh its really simple, and iv heard sports cats are a waste

it's been done before round here. people got annoyed and keys someones car because of their exhaust

i would't buy a sports cat as i don't think it's worth the money, would rther a downpipe and cat back, just don't want the 5-0 on my case all the time

Well you just said you heard your mates.

So surely you can judge if its too loud for your road?

i would put it on, iv got one on and its only loud after a ceratin amount of revs. its obviously going to void the warrenty as it adds performance. my mate has a new clio and he can lower it but if he adds wheels or engine performance its void.

Neither of my scoobs had cats, never got in trouble.

Blue one didn't need MOTs, but silver one did. Just need to know where to take them

No MOT to worry about for 3yrs on a new car I would get one, keep the CAT and pop it back in when you sell

Or if you get sick of the noise, shouldn't be too loud as the turbo will keep alot of the noise back

my car (106gti) has decat and its passed its last 2 mot's. All i done was give it a good boot before it has emmisions tested, cleaned the spark plugs up and put some injecttor cleaner in the petrol and it passes no problem. As for loud its not to bad, it will pop and burble tho.

If you do get pulled over by VOSA or the Police, they can still get you to have an MOT done if they believe the car is un-roadworthy, even if the car is under 3 years.

You'd have to get an arse of a copper to make you re-MOT it for a loud exhaust, the amount on the road today and all that.

Do it Ben, just don't rev high around your area. I ride slowly when I get close to my house when I'm on my bike, respect the neighbours and all that.
