The orange light is your Engine Management Light, which means you have a problem and need to get it sorted, thats why your car is most likely juddering and cutting out.
I cant pin point what it will be,but take it to a garage and ask them to check it out with a machince to tell you what the fault is,so you can get it fixed.
Hope this helps.

I think standard price starts from around £40 depending on which garage but you can pay anything upto £65-70.

i had a quick look yesterday and found a snapped hose...it was running from the back right of the rocker cover up under the plastic just below the windscreen.....it was whistling, like sucking air in.....could this be my problem?

never heard of that pipe before, but it sounds like air is leaking, which will suggest that is the cause of the juddering.

this could be a totally different thing that could be adding to the juddering, take your oil cap of and see if theres any mayonaise type gunk stuck to the underside of it

you might just have some excess air in the system. let the car run till hot and leave the cap off the header tank and let it overflo leave it to do this until the bubbling and the overspill has gone, you might want to give some revs as well to get any more air out the system but when it settles top the water up to correct level and see if it does it again, if so you could have a goosed thermostat of summat
