Money saving? Eh?

92,000 miles, was just about to get it done....

Had to come up to Scotland rather pronto, and it went as I was about to go home, 450 miles from home

Nope, was due on 100k, was going to get it done early to be safe....

It turns over fine with no metal noises and when it went it just popped and stalled, I've been told that's a good sign.

100k is a hell of a large interval for a cambelt

Phone ford, as long as you have full history I'm almost positive they will have to/volunteer to either repair for you or contibute to it..

You might have to get a bit vocal but could be a huge money saving..

i know diff manufacturers are different big i could never leave a belt for 100k sorry, for the sake of £200 id rather change it 20k under recomended milege if it was 100k, if it was 60k, id do it around 50k, just make sense

The cambelt on my corsa was apparently changed just before i bought it but not recorded as it dont have any service history.

Is it easy enough to check if the belts, idlers etc are new by taking the cambelt cover off?

the belt on the corsas are cheap enough, the belt may wel have been replace, id get it checked mate, at most it will cot you £200, people think belts belts belts, but u can have a brand new belt but if the rollers are fucked, the belt can collapse and u can say bye bye to engine and hello to bent valves

I am not as worried as I probably should be, my heart has never been in this car so I don't really care much tbh. I'll give Ford a go but I think they'll tell me to GTF with it being out of warranty. I can only try!

Erm, saved none, the hire car was a 1.6 so used more
We were ragging it a bit though, it's a hire car, you're supposed too

Idle, so about 750 revs

My car still hasn't arrived from Scotland, I thought it would be waiting for me when I got back from work, they must have stopped overnight
