Whats the ET of the alloys?
Think you'd at least have to modify the arches regardless anyway but depending on the ET depends on how much.

You'll prob need to chop a bit off your arches. I had 17's on my old Corsa and lowered it 40mm and it rubbed really bad on the back so needed to just take about 5mm off the arch.

On the actuall alloy itself, on the inside of it there'll be a print somewhere stating the ET of the wheel itself.
Ideal for corsa is ET49 but that's with 13/14" naturally, so the closer to that magic number you can get the better
I got 16" ET47 (think) and my car is lowered (unknown amount, check my avatar lol) and only scrubs when taking a sharp turn and the front slightly caresses it, but the rear has minimal turkey sound if you know what i mean

But as thegsi states with 17" onwards theres gona be some need of arch work done regardless, so get the angle grinder out BUZZZZZZZZZ!
