10000k that's super illegally blue.

Get some 6000k ones then it won't look quite so illegal and they'll work better when it's wet.

Can pick up a xenon kit on ebay for 30 quid now, decent halogen bulbs aren't much cheaper.

They'll draw less attention than 10000k hids aye, go 4300k and they're closer to the yellow of normal bulbs.

They aren't legal, your projector headlights are still for a halogen beam, you don't have washers and they don't self level.

8000k is the colour.

I have the 6000k on mine and I had the 8000k on my old 106gti, the 8k ones are VERY blue and the 6k ones are very nearly as bad.

Go for the 4.3k one as there as close to brilliant white your gonna get and there better on the road i've found out

Buy ones from a person near you tho so that if you have any problems you dont have to wait a month+ for replacements and it wont cost you any cash to send them back

They aren't legal in any way, getting through an mot or not is a different matter.

Your light unit isn't designed for hid's, you have no self levelling and no washers.

I've got them too and I know i'll pass my mot with them in but they're still not legal.

Correct.

I had the 8k kit in my C up until recently when I started splitting the car - it flew through its MOT with the kit in which I was chuffed with. Never been stopped / flashed etc either.

Now I've swapped back to std light set up, I hate it - can see bugger all in comparison!

Going to be going for 6K in the van lol.

Mine weren't in last night when I seen you, my bulb warning is a pain in the arse and works different from other cars so i'm waiting for bits to come through to sort it.

My headlights arent projector, and dont have washers, but passed MOT? Ive got the 8,000k kit too.

I got these from hids-direct.com or something like that, were 80 quid, came about 2 days after order, piss easy to fit, and are bright as foooook.

IIRC aftermarket kits are a grey area, if HIDs are fitted as a factory item then projecter lenses, self levelling and lense washers are required. If its an aftermarket kit the law isn't so clear cut. Though aslong as you have projector lenses, some form of levelling system and keep your lenses clean you should be ok.

It's not a grey area, they are illegal unless you have lenses that are developed for hids, a self levelling system, either in the lights or self levelling suspension and washers, not wipers on the lights.
