I know its a corsa forum but never mind.

My girlfriends ka had a intermittant missfire on cylinder number two, i changed the spark plugs and it was fine for ages then it started again so I changed coilpack, ht leads and spark plugs and it was fine for three days and now it it missing really bad.
She was doing 70 on the motorway and it dropped down to 40 because it wouldn't pull.
It is also making a really loud noise as if there is no oil in it.
If i pull a ht lead off a spark plug in 1,3,4 (one at a time) the engine idles really low as if its about to die but if I unplug number 2 there no change.

Any help appreciated.

Check for the tell-tale signs like oil in the water, mayo/whipped cream under the oil filler cap and no hot air coming through heater vents when engine warm.

Well ive just checked the spark plugs and one was melted, put a new in and it runs better, but if I take the lead off that plug it doesn't effect how the engine runs, also if I take it off then the lead sparks to any metal with visual spark but the other leads don't.

Missus says she only gets warm air now and not hot air.

these engines suffer from broken valve springs, hence the noise

Had the head off today, number two piston has a huge chunk missing, can see the piston ring and down the bore, it has also knackered the bore so new engine time.

Bits of piston have melted to the valves,

Just found out she was doing a bit more than 70 (on her private road) when it went pop.
