DO NOT DO IT
They save your life mate not a thing anyone can do.
Even when companys send you a weld in cage before you get your certificate to allow you to race you need to send a sample of your welding to them.
And i know as i have made cages for myself and customers before hand.

... And scaffolding is certainly not a suitable material to make one out of!

I have seen/heard too many horror stories about show cages in crashes!!
Pretty much all of them will fold up or snap!
Something else to trap / hit you I suppose!

heres the basics why there telling you not to use it
if your determined on makin a show cage then youd be better spendin a few quid more and buyin 304 stainless or a higher grade that is already polised as at least that way itl save you a whole lotta polising if you want it to look pretty, this is what some use but heres why there bad...its basically sheet steel thats rolled then welded, this means in a serious smash it has a major weak point as its strenth is not even hence it can buckle and snap ,esp scaffolding pipe as its tensile strenth is high
what your really looking for is seamless tubing , CDS,few quid more but it may just save your life in a really bad crash

yeah show cages just twist and snap in a big crash and they then basically become big steel skewers for you to get impailed on

the point is that is if its for a show cage then he clearly knows it will not save his life. a show cage is not designed to save lifes....

Lmao, Scaffolding!!!!
You need T45 or CDS, or similar seamless tube. Would be chaeaper and better to buy one!
