I've got a P reg, 1.2 8v Corsa...
Now, i ihave a K&N filter;
a) Do you advise fitting it? (heard something about flat spots etc..)
&
b) Connected to my airbox is a pipe from the manifold heatsheild to the airbox, also some sort of sensor. If i disconnect these will it effect the car?

Pipe wont affect it.
But its better just to get a panel filter and drill the underside of the the box.
Flatspot just means its sucks in hot air from the engine and bogs down for a second.

I've drilled my airbox already, and have a panel filter in there, but i thought the K&N might make it sounds abit better than it does..
If not, i just won't fit it..

The drilled air box and panel filter will be louder,well it was on my old 1.2.
I did have a K&N 57i on my old 1.2 and i took it off got fed up off it bogging down.

edit: 20valver is right imo

well after i had changed from the k&n back to the airbox, it stopped the flat spots.
Heatsoak is simply lost power due to hotter (and less dense) air entering the engine/combustion chamber.

think you should do a group buy on your modded airboxes 20valver.
then we can all drive with more power and no heatsoak/flat spot

No because your manifold changes when the clocks go back.When u set the time on the dash,it picks up on this and the manifold lets off cold air instead of hot.
