I was looking at some mk4 coupe turbos, couldn't really find one under 3k, yet parkers recon some early 2000 models are worth as little 2.3k - don't know if parkers are being too harsh, or some sellers just need a reality check.

Parkers means shit.
Its worth what the market says its worth. Regardless if you think they are over priced.
Its a desireble car, thats reasnably rare and affordable, thus popular. Things that are in demand do not fall in price.

I dunno I was looking at a GSi turbo 3yrs ago & it was only 10k, by any measures it should be at leat half of that now, probably less with the current financial carry on!!
I saw a Mk1 Focus RS, 03 plate on 70k mles, not a nail...nice one sell for 6k on a forum last week!!
I paid 6k for my golf last november & its worth only 3.5-4kish now!
We sold Jades 2003 55k mile Mini Cooper for Parkers P/X price last week after 2.5 weeks of advertising at their bottom price & didnt get one phone call or email...............& there meant to be one of the least depreciating cars around!!
Cars prices are dropping like a lead balloon!!

just had a look on pistonheads at prices of these and the clio 182 and ep3 ctr.
the gsi is mostly in the middle with the 182 been slightly cheaper and the ctr slightly which imo is about right.
they have probably held the value rather well as you dont really see many about, i see a 182 or ctr nearly everyday and i cant remember the last time i saw a mk4 gsi. also the gsi is going to be the best cruiser out the 3 with its big leather recaro seats and turbo engine and also the gsi was pretty well equipped compared to the ctr, and wasnt it supposed to have a pretty decent sound system as standard?

I have to disagree on pricing, I think parkers prices aren't far off, the arse has fell out the market and they're(majority of cars, not just astras) are getting cheaper every day.
Been watching a couple of S3's for my cousin, 8k 3 weeks ago, 6 at most now, it's happening everywhere.

it DOES not matter what PARKERS SAYS everything has a price and if they are holding there money for good examples then that is what people will have to pay, things are worth what people will pay not what parkers thinks its worth, and 40k now is low mileage for mk4 gsi so it should hold some money..... leon cupra r's are same
will be selling mine early next year, clean example, 50k miles will be hoping for 5-6k...... any takers lol

It does matter what parkers says, every other astra has dropped price a long time ago, was only a matter of time.
If i'm wrong you'll get a decent amount, if i'm not you won't.

all other astras have not dropped really though have they apart from 1.4/1.6 base models maybe etc etc, i looked for coupe turbo couple of weeks ago and you cant really find a decent one for less that 4k and they are not desirable at all.... im not bigging up the gsi as ive driven better cars but they are a nice car and arden blue is an amazing colour choice for them which no other mk4 astra has......
im not bothered what i get for it end of the day but i will advertise it for what everyone is selling them for not what PARKERS says
jambo yes take it from me lol will be selling next may/june

It's not what parkers says as such, but what people advertise for and what people sell for are a different matter.
I'm still sticking by parkers isn't far off and the longer you wait the less they're worth.
Whats wrong with the drivers door in the one above?

Hmmm they will suffer a hit none the less as they are getting older and with VXR's creeping into the 10k or less bracket I reckon it will be a buyers market in the next year.
As mentioned before its only worth what someone is willing to pay.
People mocked me saying I wouldnt get 8.6k for mine last year and low and behold I held out and got what I wanted.

i was also considering one of these but ive seen some up for sale knocking on the door of 100,000 miles and they are still up for £5k plus, even through private sale they are up around the £6-7k mark.
