I could fuck up an oil change

I didnt mean Nationwide the actual chain, i meant is there a nationwide chain of garages (kwik fit etc) that are running one of these promos atm?

edit - This is on my 2.0DTi Astra btw, not a corsa

edit 2 - to change oil I assume you need to prop the car up? If you do I dont have a driveway and the road its parked on is far from straight, free of bumps and slopes downhill

It would be easier if it was up on axle stands or something, it depends on where the sump shape and where the oil filter is.

Just watched this

http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-change-the-oil-in-your-car

Looks well simple, I might even give it a go tbh, im a right girl when it comes to getting dirty

Would need to buy some bits though like stands and jack....is it really as simple as they reckon it to be in that video?

Mate. Its just undo sump plug. Let oil fall. Screw oil filter off, screw another on. Fill it up.

Danny, you'll need to buy a 36mm socket to get the plastic casing off the oil filter. It's a paper one, not metal. You'll need to move the inlet hose, the one that goes into the engine at the front.

Thanks for the input guys, im going to u2u Steve on the issue as he had the exact same engine as me As its not a corsa i wont carry on in here

edit - wheres the best palce to buy oil from? Im looking for Castrol Edge (gold bottle) and Halfrauds is properly overpriced, considering Im going to need 5 ish litres and they only sell it in 4 litre pots now

Vauxhall still do bulk buy?

You will need a touch more than 5 litres if you are tackling it yourself.

Because they'll then say you need 4 new tyres, disks and pads, new fuel tank and whatever else there is under the car that you can't see and average joe knows nothing about...

They'll obviously get trade prices, and will buy their oil in bulk and in massive drums

£20 was a couple of years ago and since then the price of oil went haywire but has come back down again, although now Ive looked at the price of buying engine oil I can see maybe its not the best option.

Motor factors = something like Linco?
