do they just go onto the axle where my drums bolt on? if so do you have to weld them couldn't you just bolt everythink up normally but just with that inbetween?

cheers as im doing it all myself and was just curious about that part

ye, where would weld it for me? and it looks to just go inbetween so if i can't find anybody local i will just place it inbetween for the time been as the cars not going anywhere for a while as the water pump bearings have gone ect but things have come up at a price to good to miss so i will just keep pushing it in and out the garage when needed

just been reading some of the related threads and i found out what i needed to know, the plates from chris astley have to be welded because the replace the part of the axle that the drums attach to, so what i think im going to do is buy this rear axle which is already converted

As I said yesterday mate you might as well get the plates off the cav that you remove the brake set-up from. No they dont go over the top they replace the plates that are there, so need welding.
