When I have the cash I am wanting to get a MK4 Golf of some assortment, preferably not one with a sewing machine engine and was wondering if anyone had nice pics of any?

Thanks.

If you're after a mk4 mate but you dont want to get beat by 1.6 corsa sports the only one to get is the 1.8t gti or a 1.9gt tdi. They both came in a few variants with two different power bands. 1.8t's either had 150 or 180bhp in later models (ones after the anni) 1.9's had 130 or 150 bhp. and oodles more torque!

Couple more of mine..

Have a look on uk-mkivs some VERY nice ones on there

Are the mk4's quick in GTi form, or is Clarkson speaking the truth about them being really slow? Never can tell sometimes

edit - standard ofc

Apparently out of the mk1 - 4 the 4 is the slowest, but that'll be because it's gotten fatter and not enough extra power to keep the power:weight of the older cars.

Imo modded ones can be quite nice but a GTi is the one to get As Ben said, check out Fro's and Robbo's Don't know the other chap but am assuming it was the other silver one at the RR day?

I Have a MK4 V5, love it to bits, something a bit different, it has 170bhp apparrently from new, it likes the fuel though if you push it hard constantly, lovely sound to them, mk4s are quality cars, but get a decent one, not a 1.4,1.6 and the 2.0 gti is rubbish also,

my opinion on them is the 1.8t is the one to go for, 150 standard and plenty more power from just a remap. 1.8t is a very good engine,

V5 - only go for the 170 - it has the red 5, i love mine to bits, sound really nice on a milltek exhaust. i often get 26mpg round town and 31 on a long motorway trip, start ragging though, and it drinks it!

V6 4 motion - nice all rounder, 4x4 too

R32 - the don. simply awesome.

sorry forgot to add - the diesels are very very good, GT TDI 150 is a very good all rounder, seriously consider the diesels, remaps on these make them very nice to drive!

I completely forgot about the v5+6

as said above the following engine are pish. 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 20v GTi (non-turbo), 2.0 GTi. You'd struggle with a 1.6 corsa sport with those

best ones to get are the GT TDI one's. mk4's are more for cruising rather than speed as said before, big and heavy

Few pics of my gf's mk4 golf v6 4motion

The must unreliable car we have ever owned, less than 50k on the clock, and nothing but problems, within 2 weeks of owning it the coil ignition went on it, got that fixed, then the cat went on it, then the alternator went on it, owned the car about 6 months its been off the road more than it been on!!

Does it use a fair amount of fuel?
