right, what can it be? eml is on, nothing is wrong as far as i can tell, but annoys the hell out of me.

do the paper clip test mate to find out whats wrong.... or just disconnect the battery for so long to reset it(i think) so it goes off

disconnected the battery and will see it it will help.

most probably the air intake valve or idle control, it got an aftermarket air filter?

is it on the wing side? and the drilled box could be it resetting might do it, what are the symptoms? it feel like it gona cut out?

there are no symptoms really, every thing is as normal as far as i can tell.
reseting the ecu did not work
air box is on the drivers side wing.

right, i checked that port for scanner..

i've got a 16 pin connector.. the problem is that in that connector, pin number 6 is empty.. there are pins in 3 4 5 and 7 iirc, 1 6 8 are empty..

aye a dont think they all need to have pins, not that i am sure tho, and cant help you out with the paper clip thing either but im sure there is a tutorial

Probably just a sensor gone.
My EML comes on occasionally but doesn't seem to be causing any problems.

Does not look like you can paperclip it , you will need a correct reader tech 1 or 2 or sykes etc, think you will have to take it in somewhere, top buzz is lots of help but does not cover everything, can you find out what ecu is fitted.

cant do the paperclip test on the 1.0 12v or 1.2 16v.

most likely sensors to break on these engines are the Air Flow Meter (AFM) and the Idle Control Valve (ICV)

yea thats what i said will be one of the above thats gone but unfortunatly they aint that cheap so you wouldnt wana buy them both

tested the afm - just unplugged it and the engines revs dropped.

now i need to now about icv. is it on the left to the trottle cable or is it beghind it?
