right, driving earlier and the battery light came on and then the rest of the dash lights followed and eventually it died i originally thought the alternator had died and hoped it was that making the noise and prayed it was a easy fix.
iv got it home and found the belt has come off, which im pretty gutted about, and the pulley that's in the video is slack as f***.
iv got some questions:
now what i need to know is does the engine mount need to come off to get the belt on all pulleys again ???
how much does this cost???
and what is the pulley that's in the video and picture, is it for the water pump??

slacken your alternator, put a new belt on, tension it properly?
this happens to my valver all the fucking time!
if the alternator pulley is fucked your mean, theres a torque screw in the middle i think(not sure, thats what mine has)

well my alternator runs off my crank pulley, so basically you can see the big screw in the middle, remove it. (put in 5th gear or something) otherwise you'll turn the engine, or fuck the screw.

im confused, i only have one belt.
it isnt a screw in the middle, and the big pulley in the picture turns freely without the engine turning over or anything, im pretty sure the crank pulley is at the bottom. so thats the water pump pulley?

take a picture from further back, and i shall tell you.
i know fuck all bout these cars though, normally alternator is driven by crank or a cam pulley(to my knowledge)
and theres 3 little bolts around it, they do anything?
if your not using the pulley again, drill it out!

that pulley runs the alternator and water pump from the pulley in the middle, i'm pretty sure its just a case of putting the belt back on and the alternator is the tensioner with its adjustable bracket.

Right going from your rattling video the other day and now this has happened I think your water pump is fucked. Ok after looking at the video up there it definatly is, looks like the bearings have collapsed.
I don't think the engine mount has to come off, but it does make it alot easier. But it will defo have to come off to replace the water pump.

yeah basically that pulley is bolted to the pump and gets turned by the belt. Fairly easy job to be fair.

again not worked on your car before, but water pumps generally, have a bolt with a washer, the washer being what holds it in place mostly, ...normally 2-3 bolts..(i think i can see them actually) plus it's fucked, so unscrew everything, whats worst that'll happen!
