unless you know anyone who works at a garage and get them to mot it, and it will be done as a 1.2 if they no what there doing.outherwise register it as a 2ltr, but then you will need enginers report to get it changed on the log book, get 2 coppys of it 1 for dvla and 1 for your insurance and send both of them of.

I converted my nova from 1.4->1.6 and I didn't need an engineers report. IIRC I just filled in the log book and sent it off, and sorted out the insurance. This was a few years ago mind.
P.S Were you driving it as a 1.2 on the insurance too?

Dont need an engineers report, just send the log book off with the new engine size and engine number and they will change it. Then you will get a bill for the extra you have to pay on the tax

although this wont help you at all maybe if you went about it in a legal manner in the first place you'd have no trouble bud,is it worth the agro for the sake of a few quid tax....assuming you're not a badger driving a 2.0 litre on 1.2 insurance that is???

yes you do need a enginer's report as i had to get one for my rs van,
it depends on the size of the engine your going from and to, all the enginer's report is just to check you have changed the brakes and you have yoused the correct mount's not hom made so they snap and engine falls out
tbh just declaire it as a 2ltr and you wont have any problems, were as if u leave it registerd 1.2 you will worry evry time the pigs pull you over, and if they find out its a 2ltr say bye bye to your car cause it will be crushed, you will be fined points ectect
