Just wondering, went to my mates dads mates workshop in malvern, and there was a place that you drive on to tell weight on a digital display above, mainly used for lorries laden etc.. But put my car on, has full interior, few boxes of bits in the boot nothin major and it weighed 1040kg.

Just wondered what the standard weight is for a L reg Gsi corsa, so i could see what difference there was in the engine and 6 speed, anybody else done this with normal/converted engines/stripped interior etc.. so we can see what can be gained with weight loss etc..

so 960kg, and if you weigh about 13 stone, it works out around 1035kg

plus petrol, and extra bits in the car..

sounds about right

so 960 for a 1600 gsi, and only 1040 for a c20let corsa with f28.

thought people always say there sooooo heavy??

Mine is stripped and it weighed 840kg. I had 100 miles left in the tank. The sound dead was still in the front of the car then, it's not now.

1 litre of fuel = 0.737kg according to wiki.

So about 7.5 bags of sugar - that's a fair weight.

Still, adding 80 kg to the front of the car, and removing, optimistically, 40 kg of interior from the back is not exactly going to improve the handling, is it!?
