Just knocked this up quickly, what do you think as a basic design?

I think the banner could do with more work, but I'm not sure what, any suggestions? Just to have a place where I can link people too when I take pictures at events etc nothing majorly professional like selling pictures

perhaps fade out the picture, put welcome to gallery over the top of them,

loose the white boxes and just have words as links

other than that not bad, i did something similar on freewebs as a bit of fun

Not bad imo mate, Paul's idea sounds good though, turn down the opacity on the pics and put the title over the top, it could look quite good

I've always made sites with a plain colour to the background, fancied something with bit of a texture, what is it you don't like about it?

I tried having the words over the pictures, it looks gay

Hmm fair point Brett, I'll give a few others a shot and update here later

Matt yeah I've always used plain colours, generally blue as I think blue looks great, light blue that is, but I'll get some ideas together.

But considering its the only site that hasn't worked all day, i dont think its that.

I only put that to there was some text in the box, but as I say it's not meant to be massively professional, just so many times people have said, "oh have you got any photos of me from so and so event" and I have to take the time to look through tons of photos and then get it over to them, this way is easier

Not sure how I'm going to display the pictures yet, need a fairly quick and easy way, we'll see when it comes to it.

imo change background to a less old fashioned colour and lose the boxes around the words just my thoughts though.

I wanted to try something different and my own design. But I'll give that a look, if it's decent I'll just use that for ease
