Members of the SE region your country needs you! (well I do anyway )
As some of you maybe aware i have a sheared bolt problem with the golf. I need the rest of the bolt in this pic removed from the gear box, without damaging the thread!
Is there anyone that is good at drilling bolts out whilst retaining the thread or know of anyone that is? As this is something that really cannot be f'd up or i'd try it myself
Cheers

pretty much impossible for it to be drilled out have you not tried an easy out tool with a reverse threadie drill a samll hole then drill the easy out into it and then wind the bolt out using the easy out if not can it not be drilled out and re tapped

Yeah i meant using the tools you've said, but my wording is awful Just don't fancy doing it myself because if i have to get it re tapped. the bolt has to pass through the dogbone mount bush will be too small for the new thread in the gearbox.

drilling out is the easy bit just start with small dril bit something like 1/8th then work up what size bolt is in there
