maybe they were there intentionally, they use maggos to clean infections and eat dead flesh

Very true, if your foot is basically rotting due to no blood flow. to stop infection they put maggots on the wound as maggots only eat dead flesh and not healthy tissue. Every few days they swap the maggots for new baby fresh ones and take the old ones out before they turn into flies!
Sick but very true, cant imagine what it feels like
