at 5am this morning, my gran went out talk walk the dogs, leaving my grandad in bed. 2 mins up the road she passes a speeding car quickly followed by a load crash. she assusmes it has hit the roundabout ( a fairly regular occurance as it is an A road used as a rat run by lorries for the A1.)

she returns after her walk to this.

her house if you hadnt realised where this story was going

10mins earlier she would have been in there getting ready to go out. and my grandad who was in the bedroom which is the front right hand window was thrown out of bed and had to be helped out side by firemen as the stairs are to the left of the picture so he was trapped by rubble.

every other day this week he has been up at that time watching cricket and would have been in that room.

just makes you think how lucky you can be sometimes

I'm not no structural engineer like, but house looks like its a knock down job looking at how the wall is on the front... unless it can be repaired

still, atleast ya family is safe and well. houses can be rebuilt/replaced (like cars), its the people that cant...

Jeasus

Simmilar thing happened to my grandads, he lived at the bottom of a very steep hill. Some local youths had got their hands on a hire car & drove at speed down the hill making air bout half way down, this snapped the steering when they landed & went right on into his front room of his house.

He was in the back making a cuppa at the time.
