Am I the only one thinking they are making far too big a deal about everyone 'making a special effort to get to work'
Surely as its your job its no different to when its raining, or sunny, or windy?? Surely you have to turn up regardless, and dont need any special recognition?
I dunno, maybe im just bitter...

I'm a contractor so I don't get paid when I'm off. I have to make the special effort every day

Next time it's REALLY sunny, everyone should ring in and say they can't make it cos the sun's in their eyes.

I think this is all quite funny at the moment, i managed to get to work perfectly fine everyday this week....whereas half the staff are getting in at 10.30 - 11.....not a word said.

People that use snow as an excuse to stay of work should be docked holidays.

I didn't go in yesterday - but tbh I got more work done by not coming in. I've got remote access to the server and took the CAD Laptop home with me - I had a more productive day than if I'd have sat in the car

Bit harsh.
I'd rather my Dad be alive and work from home than attempt the 150 mile round trip in weather like it was on monday.
But some people take the piss, agreed

Sorry my comment was aimed at folk that live within a accessible distance to their work place.

I hate it when people within 3 miles of work make out they can not get in, walk for fucks sake.

Everyone wanting a pat on the back for going to work
I wonder if the dossers that manage to make it to the pub for opening time when it's snowing get a heroes welcome.

Theres a woman that works here that lives 2 miles up a country road from work. She is the closest person to the office, majority of people travel 10+ miles to get here.
Yet if it snows she is the only one that doesn't turn in! Fucking piss take just cos she is a fat lazy bitch that cant be arsed to walk.

Yes, just off the phone to one of the pub i deal with, hes hoping everyone goes down for a pint if they get snowed in again.
Industry is shocking the now, I had a woman on crying that she only made £30 the day before.
However if the fuckwits keep saying "were having a wee credit crunch cant pay this week" im going to go down and kill them all.

We're having a wee credit crunch, that makes it sound cute awwww
Wetherspoons turnover was up I think I read, they started shifting lager at £1 a pint. Shame it's some shitey heavy crap or I'd be down for 6 pints every night.
