Is there really much difference?

Gf is looking at a corsa B 1.2 spin, but it doesnt have PAS.

Ive never driven a corsa without PAS and wondered how heavy the steering actually is compared to one with PAS.

Thanks for any help

I had my corsa (no PAS) and my polo (PAS) together for about a fortnight and driving the corsa after the polo killed my arms

My car does'nt have PAS and i dont really mind it, although i got new tires the other day and it is considerably heavier. I am fine with it, but if my mum drives it she cant drive it well, her car has PAS.

Ah right, i guess she would just have to get used to it. You cant buy cheap and get everything.

Also, does anyone know if a 1.2i spin is a 16 or 8 v ?

non power steering corsas arent bad Mines great when on the move and feels just right i think. Trying to park and move slowly is a bit of a bugger though, can feel soo heavy lol. You get used to it though and its never really bothered me.

How much are you spending? I'd have though every Corsa under £1k which isn't a complete shed should have PAS/EPS.

I've driven mine both with and without, well I took the fuse out probably around 18 months ago and it hasn't found it's way back in since

There's no offence whatsoever meant in this next statement

I'm not sure a girl would be very happy with it. From experience women seem to take their time a lot more when parking/manouvering, therefore it's harder to steer because the wheels are barely rolling. When I park, I know that the steering is heavy so I don't hang about, I make sure it's rolling quick enough so that the steering is lighter but I've never seen a woman park at the same speed as me, and it's not just women before anyone thinks I'm being sexist, I've never seen anyone take more time in their parking than my brother

Cars that are supposed to have PAS/EPS that then don't have it, are harder going than cars which don't come with PAS/EPS from the outset, I thought?!

Spend a couple on hundred more, get a 1.4 8v or a 16v with PAS.

The 1.2 8v will cost her more in the long run (they do about 30MPG), they are dog slow (45bhp on paper) and IMO are dangerous.
