So I have agreed to buy a set of
- Eibach Springs Front and Rear (40mm drop on a standard car, whats that on a GSi?)
- Koni Adjustable Dampers
- Full Poly bushed front suspension (wishbones etc)
- Front and Rear Strut Brace's
- Rear Whiteline ARB
What else should I consider?
I am hoping to do a few track days here in Ireland with the aim to go over for a spirited run around the Ring during the summer.
This is on a standard gsi with a c16xe.

Some 15s with good tyres and that sounds like a strong setup. And drop will still be -40mm

Poly bushed rear beam mounts. Eibach/Whiteline camber bolts with a proper suspension setup.

I dont plan on tracking it too often and I want to keep the standard look, so the the standard alloys are going to stay.

His rear beam is puly bushed too, but dosnt have ABS. Shame really. I will look into the camber bolts. Where is the best place to get them?

lol, my budget is well blown already, that would be just too much . It not really being built to be a track weapon, but to be a good alrounder.

lol, yeah. If I bought that the GF would have me sleeping in the car permanently. my budget build just to get the car back on the road has already ballooned into buying all this stuff..... any more and I am dead!!
Will these do the job in ragards camber? Eibach EZ Cam Front Camber Adjustment Bolts
But as it stands what I am buying should make for a decent handling car considering the standard power?

Front ARB poly bushes, tighten up the front a fair bit. get upper and lower strut braces too.
tie rod lowering kit from chris astley should make a difference too.
Coilovers are always superior to uprated shocks and springs. the gaz gold ones are really good.
front camber kit if you do go the coilover route
And im afraid if you want it to handle well your going to need to change the wheels for some 15's so you have a better rubber selection. You can get some vauxhall 15's (cesaro, mk4 astra sxi) to name a few and just wrap some sticky 195/45/15's around them and keep the standard look.
As with any project, you need to add another 50% onto your budget to get the true figure. I also noticed you dont mention brakes anywhere, you could do with some pagid racing pads and grooved discs with braided hoses and silkolene rbf600 fluid in them too.

If you are planning on getting them set up properly I would also look into ajutstable/solid top mounts.

imo tyres are the most important things and wouldnt bother wasting your money on anything else if you are going to use ditchfinders.
Its the only thing between your car and the road remember

I personally would run your existing wheels some decent tyres like f1's or rainsports for damp/wet days and get a set of cheap 15's of a vauxhall and stick some 888's or yoko's on them. It's what I do.

Cheers, but I already agreed to buy all the bits off John Hinchy. I contacted him about a drivers seat and came away with a fill interior and all those bits!

not going to see the car again till the weekend. as a matter of interest, what size tyres would normally be fitted to the standard 14's?

If it is gonna be used on the road, it is often the fixed setups that are the better option, as they leave you enough give to absorb the undulations and general shittyness of the surface and dont bounce the car, making it unstable.
The bilsteins on mine are coping wit the fact that one of my lower arm bushes (right side) is hammered and clunking, but still give the car composure and me confidence to push on, even if i can feel a bit of understeer around a 60mph left-hand corner...
I just think that unless it is a track car, coilovers dont suit the bill on the british roads.

My battery is going in the boot but that is because the tray is rusty and horrible and not really for weight distribution
I was considering just removing the front ARB rather than keeping it and buying a rear one. Get the rear making a bit more of a contribution.

mmm removing the front ARB would help front grip but will be more unstable at higher speeds, bit of a compromise really.

I've taken the front ARB off mine, and it turns in far better. Just gives you better response into the corner. Am regularly taking corners at around 60mph and it handles them fine too...but that could be down to the B8's being amazing.

Speeds wont be that high so no compromise really.
Koni adjustables or bilstein is what I'd go with damper wise. I'd stay clear of gaz.
Tyres will make the most difference though.
