Hi All
I need some help from you chaps with a problem I have with the wifes corsa.
The engine is an X14XE and has a spec as follows :
K&N filter
4 branch manifold
Cat bypass
2" stainless exhaust
Everything seems to have been running OK up until about just before Christmas.
Symptoms of the problems are :
part throttle chugging
hesitation
engine missing
plugs sooting up
I have done the following :-
changed Coolant temp sensor
changed air inlet temp sensor
changed MAP sensor
changed lambda sensor
changed crank sensor
changed DIS pack
changed plug leads & plugs
All the above are brand new items apart from the DIS pack which is a known good item.
The symptoms still persist after all the above changes.
As far as I can tell I have changed all the sensors on the engine apart from the idle control valve, throttle position sensor and knock sensor.
Anyone got any ideas what is going on . There is no EML light coming on and no error codes are stored on the ECU as I can read them with my Sykes Pickavant code reader.
This is now really bugging me and the wife is getting somewhat annoyed that I can't seem to fix it !!!
Cheers
Joff

Try cleaning out the TB and check the tps, are all injectors getting a pulse, and TB rubber seal ring, fuel filter and pressure valve worth a check.

As said on png i'd try disconnecting the egr and see what happens. or blank it off as it wont do any harm either way

TPS sensor maybe
EGR valve can casue hard starting/jerking, depending where its stuck
timing all okay? (normaly bring EML on in not though)
miss fire -
compression test
try leads and coil

check the piping from the MAP sensor to the inlet manifold as it has a tendency to perrih over time and will cause this problem,
if timing was a issue then youd get this fom even the lightest ouch of the throttle as normaly timing is the woodruf key being worn and just moving a mill or two will cause a missfire.
if timing is out by one toth on a 14xe you will hvae lovely bent valves as they are interferance engines.
only other thing i can think of is that the egr is partialy blocked or stuck as is quite commonly th case with these engines its quite common
check all the vacume pipes as they do split. other than that do a paper clip test, you may not think it but your car doesnt always have to put up a light for it to be stored as a fault

The guys on PNGClub reckon its the EGR valve - anyone got any ideas how you take these off - the second bolt seems inaccessible on these engines!

egr would bring up the eml would it not, could be icv but I suspect it will not be that easy, could even be ecu but thats rare, keep posting how you get on, good luck.
