looking at the program you can choose between 98, 128, 192 and 256 kbps before you convert to mp3.

Unless its something you really can't get anywhere else you might as well tap the tune on your leg, the quality is nowhere close to an mp3 ripped from a cd.

If its been recorded properly using cable's onto a pc/ played "as a video" on youtube. Theres no difference.

Actually the converter will be better then CD because that 128kbps.

Where as all my recent tunes are @ 192kbps thus being higher quality.

Chirst- Even do it at 320kbps if you want to be ultra clear

The youtube video is at a certain quality, say 64kbps for talking sake.

That's as good as that file can be, saving it as a 320kbps mp3 file does not make it better, it's still at 64k.

A 128kps CD isn't compressed like an mp3 is so it's always better quality than an mp3 that has been ripped from it, no matter how high the bitrate of the mp3.

Mp3 is compressed in such a way that you can't normally hear the difference between the CD and a high quality mp3 though.

I have to agree with John on this.

You can lower the bitrate (quality) of a song as much as you like. But it is nigh on impossible to raise the quality of a track, if it has peviously been recorded in a lower bitrate.

If you are trying to download something that was recorded at 64kbps (low quality), and you select 320kbps as the download quality rate, it will still sound EXACTLY the same as if it was at 64kbps, but take up alot more space

Its a hard one to accept, but thats the way it is!

I have spent years recording live music and DJ's so i have been there and done that!
