Its meant to stop clubs spending beyond there means and just going into administration to clear debt like Leeds.

Its hugely flawed though as it doesnt take into account the circumstances as to why a club is in that situation in the first place (see Luton Town)

Luton was a special case where they deserved the 30 points deduction.

In theory it's the correct thing to have in place in practice not the best.

Yet another club in admin

Got me thinking earlier, what will English Football be like in say, 20-30 years? I cant see it being how it is now. I reckon it will be like the SPL, & other European Leagues where the top league is mostly dominated by 3/4/5 teams and the rest just hoping to stay up. Championship & League 1 will be made up of much smaller teams than now, and the League 2 & Blue Square could possibly be amature leagues.

Certainly wont be an overnight thing, but I can see it happening.

Probably, personally i think eventually the only "serious" league will be a merged european one. Basically a champions league league

So thats 4 clubs in League 2 docked points and about 3 clubs on the verge of going bust in the BSP with various others looking dodgy.

I think i can see where this is going

Since when did the FA, UEFA and FIFA care about fans?

But yeah probably wont happen, although when you hear talk of playing games in Asia you cant help but think the powers that be would love this to happen

Oh they'd love it alright. Only way I could see it happening would be in UEFA took over as the ruling body for the teams in the league & they left the FA (or what ever it may be called in other countries)

However, as the FA will make loads of money on teams like Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal & Chelsea I cant see them letting UEFA take over.

I just see it as the rich getting richer, and the poor getting poorer. In 20/30 years time they may only be 40 or professional clubs left

IIRC 10 is the standard spoints deduction which i'm sure luton received the previous season

I have no idea why a further 30 were deducted, although i seem to remember something about not meeting the administration requirements which all seemed farcical
