Right iv got a redtop dizzy version in my corsa the problem i was having with it was when it started up it was hunting alot and idling up to 2k then dropping to nearly cutting out the back to 2k etc etc and when driving it would miss n kangaroo like a twat.

so today i put a brand new dizzy on it and brand new plugs and rotor arm as old ones had seen better days, also changed the injectors and o rings for a freshly reconditioned set and started it up again......

This time it was still hunting but when driving the kangarroing etc had stopped but it was shit at idling (at this point your thing air flow meter or idle control valve) BUTTTTTTTTTT

i drove half way down my road got to the junction at the end and it cut out and would not start again at all i waited like 30 mins and still nothing its turning over but its like its getting no spark or fuel for some reason so now im thinkin electrical or fuelin side????????

i had this problem and it was the fuel pump that was knackered and not fueling enuf, it would t would rev up on the spot, but when you drove and you were underload it would just dir on us and go nowhere, also i would say a knackered crankshaft sensor, paperclip it

Happened on mine the other day mate, i fouind it was the coil for the dizzy.

Take the HT leads off and just spray a little wd40 in there, help the connectivity between the terminals ect ect. Mine was getting fuel but wasnt igniting. Just try that before you go spending stupid money.

Also check that the connections on your battery are nice and tight and that there is nothing shorting the negative terminal.

You should be ok after that, if not then have a go at what Torsa said, cheapest route for it

It'll probably be down by the ECU in the drives footwell.

Should look like this:

before replacing it, bang it on something. they fail, alot.

Doubt it; all to do with the 'car loom'. i.e. headlights, stereo, heaters, horn, rear window wipers etc
