Car was getting its MOT today and all was going well until 1 of the mechanics who had nothing to do with the MOT decides to swing off my strut brace as the vehicle was raised in the air. Next thing, CLUNK he snaps the fucker off! So now it was an MOT failure as i had a metal bar hanging from underneath my car! So i had to remove the snapped bracket and the rest of the bar he laughed and avoided me, didnt even say sorry or offer to pay for it which really pissed me off!
So tommorow am gona slap a recipt in he's face and make him pay. If he decides not too ill goto the boss and make it come out of he's wages!
Some people are natural born cocks...
Rant Over! Kids, dont swing on your strut brace's is today's lesson

The bar wasnt on its way out, i had over tightened it with my airgun and slightly bent the brackets, I was planning on straightening the brackets and putting steel washer's onit over the weekend, i even told my mentor who was MOT'ing my car.
Sorry i forgot to mention i work in the Toyota garage, so i will see him tomoro and have a moan then as he quickly dissapeared soon after he broke it

Wants a slap tbh. And then some.
You'd have thought it'd be common sense not to swing off a car. Moron.

Yes, they would definately be liable, but if its the garage he works for, you're hardly going to go in there shouting your mouth off like a regular customer would.

If the bar snapped with him on it it wasnt right anyway. A strut brace should be able to withstand 80k of pressure from a bloke. You just said the brackets were bent and ill fitted, so in actual fact you had a potentially dangerous modification to your car that could have fell off during a drive and got wedged in your wheel or fetched a following motorcyclist off his bike in the process.
To me that sounds like an unroadworthy modification and he could argue it was part of the mot test and failed to meet structural demands.
The garage wont pay out for an ill fitted modification, we never would if we broke an ill fitted modification to someones bike as part of a test or service.

How do you swing from a strut brace when the cars in the air? It sounds near impossible to me

Depends on how the bar was designed. It's not supposed to be loaded in the way it was.
