as some are aware i was due to be in Scotland this month. unfortunately plans made were cancelled but as i had already paid for tickets i thought i would go all the same and went on a driving holiday
that was the route. Aberdeen>Inverness>Loch Ness>Cairngorms>Perth>Dundee>Aberdeen
locations in bold indicate where i stayed for one night
had an amazing time! just hired the car from the airport and had the plan to stay the night as described above. flicked through a tourist book on the flight there and had a rough plan where i would go.
i've never holidayed on my own, either with fmaily, friends or camps with the RAF so was a complete new experience having to plan it all myself and loved it!
few photos below!
cow with a view!
Dunottar Castle
Fyvie Castle grounds

Macduff Aquarium
Carrbridge
Cairngorms
Loch Ness
Aberdeen Maritime Museum
the bunks in an oil rig
as you can see i was pretty snap happy!
i would recommend the Coastal Trail road from Macduff>Inverness following the brown signs, some amazing driving roads along there, and also the A82 north side of Loch Ness, if you can concentrate on the road and not be distracted with the view it is a brilliant stretch to enjoy the revs!!
the photos in full!

You missed a world famous chip shop by about half an hour.
An underground nuclear bunker as well.

Speaking of chip shops, I hope you tried a battered mars bar when you were in Stonehaven. They were invented here

Saw it was a hire car, but thought it might just be interesting to know what it was and what it was like over those few days.
