Well, let me be the first to congratulate you on getting your first Corsa, and welcome to the forum.
Although I have never owned a Corsa, and I never intend on doing so (god knows why i'm a member of this forum ), I can appreciate a decent example.

There are a couple of points. Good and bad...

i) The exhaust is far too large, and its obviously a universal back box (hence the dodgy angle it sits at and how rough it looks).

ii) I know i've always been told not to judge a book by its covers, but i'm guessing the car was previously owned by a young "boy racer" type guy. The large exhaust is a dead give away, so i'm also assuming its done a fairly high milage and its been thrashed for the last year or more. This is by no means a bad example of a first car for yourself, as i'm sure it will only get the same treatment.

iii) From what i can see, the bodywork is nice and straight. I can see no dings/dents/rust which is quite unusual for a Vauxhall of that age (what age is it by the way? The NI plate doesn't give too many clues )

iv) The colour has potential. Go for a smoked theme. i.e. smoked side-repeaters, depos, dark alloys and keep the black plastic parts treated with your choice of "back to black" type product. You're instantly on to a winner with very little spent.

I don't have much else to add, so just enjoy your say here, and I look forward to seeing our car progress into something more interesting (if you don't mind me saying so).

Welcome Looks like a good place to start mate, those engines are bombproof as well. You can lower around 80/120 (front/back) providing you have the right fitment wheels and right size tyres, but personally with a GSi kit i'd go 60mm all round. Check out the very last pics in my garage too see how the height looks. Also check out thegsi's garage, he has 15's on a GSi.

They really are (Im assuming its an 8v). I had one with over 90k on it and gave it a lot of abuse. The engine was then removed by the new owner, but before he removed it he left a brick on the accelerator for ages apparently, and it still went fine after.

Drilling the airbox would be a good first mod lad, theres a tutorial on this site.
