was wondering, as earlier corsas have different tie bar brackets allegedly to the later ones, do rally design sell them for different chasis numbers? as most of the powerflex things ive seen, seem to only be for the later chasis numbers, ie not what i need.

I thought it was the ARB's that were different diameters

yeah they are, but also the front tie bar brackets are different on early corsas to later chasis numbers.

are they powerflex ones though? as id rather not pay those prices if i can help it.

They are no better than cheaper stuff either.. infact the only bushes I bought from Powerflex were really badly cast.

they have the brand name thats about it. i want quite rigid ones.

The Polysport ones I've got on the rear were better than Powerflex, cast better, tighter fit and more solid.

will ring rally design and get them asked then. its on the list of things i need to do to improve suspension set up to try and get better grip.

nic ive got a wholse set for a corsa, never used (rear beam ones fitted in a new beam, thats it) you could make an offer on

Nic, for the tie bar best thing you can fit is the later spec brackets and standard new bushes.

are the later brackets better? i cant say ive ever seen any, or noticed on all the corsas ive worked on. just remember years ago being told about it.

later ones were bigger and stiffer, problem with the polly bushes in the tiebar is there is more movement in those than a standard bush, to the extent of them pulling out in one or two cases, bloke called tomas on here had a red top in a 5 door, fitted powerflex, hit the brakes and they pushed thru IIRC!
i noticed a vast improvement removing my powerflex fron tie bar bushes and fitting the new standard bushes and brackets.
didn't cost that much either

new front brackets from vaux will come with new bushes aswell wont they. hmm. something to look at for definate.
i imagine that shell had a hard live from before i bought it what with teddy's erratic driving.

i fitted powerflex blacks on mine, the problem with them pulling through was a design issue, i believe tomas car was used to re design them after the pull through incident

the purple ones looked the same after tho, thought their solution was another washer? not bought any for a corsa in ages

i when down to rally design (local to me)
when to fit the poly bushes to the tie rods, but totaly wrong
worked out i needed pre 97 tie rods
problem solved
also need to fit big washers as nuts squashed bush - bad design
