Read about this a week or so ago now - its not the council/poilce behind it though is it? The way I read it (in another article) its the Drivesafe group taking the pics off their own back and then handing these to the police.

It was a PCSO i think driving one on channel 5 there, if it's what you say thats even worse, some basically random taking pictures of you then getting a fine for it.

not allowed to do anything behind the wheel really, eat/drink/smoke

when the smoking rule came in i thought they were saying that if you make a mistake or cause an accident whilst smoking then you can be fined for it. didn't realise it was actually illegal.

we've had these smart cars with cctv cameras on top for ages down here now.
they're only used for catching people who park on double yellows or zig zags etc.
suppose they could use it for all kinds of things though.
