recently starting noticing this more, but its getting harder and harder to get my car into gear, especially when changing down gear. also i have to put my foot all the way down on the clutch pedal to change gear.
now obviously i suspect that the clutch is going, but didnt know whether the difficulty in changing gear could mean the gear box is going too (not very mechanical minded)
could anyone maybe shed some light on this for me, and maybe give me a rough price you think it would cost to fix the thing?
cheers Neil

i havent tried anything - as i said im not mechanical minded
just thought it might be the clutch, as the biting point is right at the bottom (ie have to only bring clutch up tiny bit from foot full down)

could be just the clutch cable mate, I paid 30 have mine swapped at a garage...
Mine was old and frayed, could be that hopefully lot cheaper than a full clutch!

adjust the clutch cable firstly.. if you dont know how then buy a haynes manual (as i cant remember how to tell peeps how to do it but can do it myself if you catch my drift)
then i would adjust the gear linkage..
simple job
get under the bonnet and find where the gear linkage atatches to the box that there should be a little button with spring pust it in and wiggle the gear linkage till it locks into place (again ref to the manuel as this was correct for my GLS but a sport will ahv a different box ect.)
get under the car and loosen the pinch bolt for the gear linkage (as i said before best getting a manual to see better)
after lostening it then place the gear leaver over to neutrel between 1st & 2nd pin it in place then do up the pinch bolt again make sure its tight as this is now adjusted so good luck..
