as it says, sputtering/bogging at low revs, up to about 3,000
its worse the lower the revs.
idle's fine though?
any ideas?

if its overheatin aswel check ur oil cap coz it could be ur head gasket! it cud be missin see

yeh well it started sputtering just as i left petrol station so must of sucked some shit up from tank just b4 i went.

yeh ino, well i think ill give it a bloody good service tmrw and see what happens
what do i need for good service (engine only)
oil change,
sparkies,
oil filter,
fuel filter.
what else?

right so service car 2day, changed;
oil
oil filter
sparks
fuel filter.
now the problem has changed.
it now revs up fine, but idle's lumpy, like it used to when the egr stopped working but thats unplugged and had been for ages.
also sprayed oil out exhaust (tiny splats on floor) and was black smoke while cold.
any ideas??

depending on colour/texture thats whats happening.
Black smoke isn't a good sign, thats oil burning someplace, not ideling correctly can be air/fuel anything along those lines to be honest

yeh its the dry and wet fouling, they came out a sooty matt black.
I have recently fitted a powerbox, but the car was fine for 2days b4 it started playing up.
and duno how much i had in tank before i filled up but the light was on for a good amount of miles, and i filled up with a 10er (student amount lmao)

black smoke is overfuelling not oil, check the pipe to the map sensor and just check for air leaks

right, i had a look at everything, and i think ive sorted it for now.
since fitting the power box i dont think i got the vac hoses the right way round, anyway swapped them round and all seems to be running ok for.
thanks for your help.
