Ok, me being me always gets bored so decide to start new hobbies/projects I dug an old RS Cosworth scaley set out about 7 weeks ago and thought it was great fun so decided to build a perm circuit in the loft.

First of all I created a space for a circuit at least 10 x 7ft with scope for extending as/when I want to. The layout will be based on a 1950-60s 'Goodwood' style with art deco architecture and cars to boot - I have a mixture of 1950s F1 through to 1970s BMW CSLs and Porsches.

Next up I decided to make a couple of buildings to get my skills upto scratch, flipping hard cutting this stuff straight

Also made a deco style tower control/owners lounge

A few days ago I completed the table

After testing the circuit, I came to the conclusion that albeit was great fun (lots of drifts) the back straight was way too short for some of the more powerful cars.

So after a bit of fettling I came up with the design below. Now just waiting on delivery of a few hairpins and I'll build the back section up - will add approx 80cms to the back straight which will hopefully make all the difference.

Pit lane mock up..

Will add progress in here when I have time/can be arsed to finish what I've started

me too mate. a pal of min has a loft setup where as you enter through the hatch you kind of pop up in the middle of the track and it goes all round you. it pretty much takes up all of the space up there. i'll get him to send me a pick next time i see him.

Problem is I want/need most of the loft space If I actually use it then I'll expand it to the otherside too, what will be spectacular is the scenery and landscape

My godfather had an awesome set up in his loft when we were younger. Loads of scenery, hills, pit lane, houses etc. etc. shit loads of cars.

Then they converted the loft in to a bedroom. I guess he will still have it all packed away somewhere as I cant see him getting rid of a collection like that.

I bought a GT40 set a few years ago, me and my brother played it a few times over Christmas then there was no where to keep it set up. Got 3 lofts but all have things in which would have made a permanant set up awkward

See, now that area could've been converted and used as a mini studio to photo your items

Looks neat tho.

Looks good mate. Keep us updated when you add the grass and trees.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
