if i bought a 1.0 12v envoy 1999 V reg, would i be able to convert it so it had PAS or EPS? and does anyone know how much ruthly it would cost?

You can yeah, not sure what you need, obviously the steering rack, and pump, pipes etc. My mate had it put on his Sport.

They're both difficult jobs, few hundred at least for the parts and you've either lots of hydraulic plumbing to do or a dash out to fit the electric one.
Are you changing your car? Why not find a car with the spec you want already? It won't add 200 quid the budget.

If you bought a 1.0 you would have to convert to EPS, you would need the EPS column, clutch pedal, column bracket, ECU and wiring...
I've just converted mine to EPS and it was a mission.. Dash out job..
You're looking at £100-200 of parts depending on if you want to go to the scrappy to take them out or not and about £200-300 labour to fit it.. Might as well buy one with EPS!

You cant use the PAS setup from a 1.4/1.8 16v theres no where for the pump to mount to the engine and if you could mount it the 1bhp that the 1.0 makes would be drained by the steering.
