Though the eco-tec lumps can bepretty resilient after a cam-belt snappage.

Minimum would be a bent valve or few. Worse as said damaged pistons etc.

Hope it's all well for you and not too bad though fella

Dont break it Mo.. Just drop another engine in it. When mine went on the astra 1.8 ecotec, I just bought one from Bury salvage £120 all in with loom & sensors. Managed to make about £60 back in parts sold too

the way i'm looking at it is. £500 to fix but valvue of cars is only £1000-£1200 so it is worth it?

still thinking along the lines of breaking. getting some money back and moving on

if you like the car then its worth it, you can go buy another engine then have the fun of taking this engine out and putting the other engine in to find it knocks its tits off and blows smoke rings better than a chimeny stack,

or you can rebuild yours for not much money at all and you can ahve the satisfaction of i did this myself..

personaly im rebuilding the back end of my corsa gls after it was involved in a accedent and got written off as a cat c but as i really like the car im rebuilding it.

at the end of the day its completely down to you
