Had an enlarged tear gland under my eye lid for the past few months, and nothing was shifting it. Had anti-biotics and eye drops, but it just wouldn't go. So had an appointment with an eye surgeon today.
First off I had an injection IN my eyelid
Then he used this clamp thing to flip my eyelid upside down
The injection did fuck all btw, and the whole thing hurt like hell. After a short while longer it did kick in and all I could hear was the sound of scissors or some cutting tool, and what sounded like scraping. God damn it was a horrible experience.
And to top it off I have a big fecking eye patch which covers half my face!! Awesome. That's me in for the day then.

How long will it take to heal and will your tear duct still work as normal, have they just removed excess tissue/gland?.

I can't take the patch off til tomorrow morning, and I've got eye drops to take 4 times a day for the next fortnight. I'm not sure tbh, he said you have 40 of these glands in each eye, so guess either way I'll be ok. It sounded/felt like he just removed the excess tissue.

You look like you're almost touching the ceiling and higher than the fan light
Or you're standing on the bed.

Good luck recovering so you can take off that ugly garment
