Morning all, recieved a phonecall this morning asking if I would like to attend an interview for a job (graduate engineer).

Anyway, it's with a company called Expro Group, they basically specialise in well flow management, well testing, wireline and just general flow assurance from what I can gather. Would be for the North Sea sector.

So, the story is - never had a proper interview before in my life. How should I prepare for it? What type of questions should expect to be asked - I'm guessing questions about the company itself perhaps?

Your help is appreciated

Little background reading on the company itself, dress up smart, be keen and eager, look everyone in the eye and shake their hand, have at least a couple of questions to ask at the end, training, job prospects etc etc.

Ok - so just have a few cheeky questions to grill them with at the end of the interview?

How long do they normally last for?

- wear a suit
- don't say you want the job for the money, avoid the money bit altogether
- explain why you would like to work for the company
- they will ask you about how you have been involved in team work/solo work before so give an example of a something you've done previous (doesn't need to be in a job) could be anything like putting an xe in your corsa with mates or on your own.

that's the basic things i got asked for my interview at ford, along with a few others.

I always ask about the money right at the very end of the interview. Its the main reason you go to work and I don't think its unreasonable to ask about renumeration/other benefits available.

Otherwise dress smart, ask a few intelligent questions and be yourself

Yeah, I've got the glad rags sorted out

So, perhaps team work done at Uni and as you say, putting the engine in the car with a mate...

Thanks for this guys, good to get a cheeky insight from you
