When you change engines do you have to register the car again?if so how would you do this?

jst put the new exact engine cc and engine number in ure log book n send it back to dvla

Well sometimes the DVLA "may" ask but very rarely this is done to be honest. Even then all you need is an engineers report which a majority of garages can/will do for £30 or so.

dvla have just asked me for the report.because both cars are mine (corsa and cav) i went to a vauxhall dealer with both the v5 forms and they just wrote a note on headed paper to confirm that the cav engine is a 2l 16v and its in the corsa. happy days. did not cost me just act dumbbbb

i paid 4 vauxhall to come out it was only £40
