On paper they are as follows...
Corsa 1.6 16v Sport: 0-60mph = 9.5 seconds
Fiesta Xr2i 1.6 8v: 0-60mph = 8.9 seconds

U know im gonna sat the corsa better overall
1600 16v will get to 60 in 9 secs. So, 0-60 wise theres bugger all in it. I reckon the Corsa would get to 100 a bit quicker, but would be close top end.
Corsas engine is far better to tune though. After that, say bye bye Ford

SetH lol thats what i was thinking!
id much rather have the corsa GSi, well i have one lol, but the fiesta is alot lighter
also a ford is a ford, the only decent thing to come from them is the escort cossie, thats about it

Nahh, Fords are good cars, Fiesta RST are good little motors. Dont like any other Fiestas (well, bar that 200bhp 1.6 16v new one )
Fords are good cars, in cases, better than vauxhalls, but, in this case, The Corsa is Better.

closely matched cars. probably go down to driver vs. driver it depends how good you are.. i'd say 0-60 on paper the fiesta wud just nick it... slightly lighter i think as well

the xr2i fiesta's are rubbish! end of story, even the 1800 16v xr2i's only put out 105bhp, thats the same as a gsi/sport roughly, and the corsa responds better to engine mods, and looks 100000 times better then the fiesta does, even modded!

arrrrr yer i forgot about the fiesta RST and that new concept one
i think it would be a good race between the too, but i think the fiesta would nick it due to its lightness

Sorry, Fiesta XR2's and XR2i's are slow as fcuk!
My GSi used to destroy my friends XR2i with ease.
Even my SXi was as fast as the old XR2 topend

the fiesta rs1800 had the same bhp as the rsturbo but the power was there all the time so i dont think any production corsa would match it but at the end of the day its a ford and the build quality leaves much to be desire.

RS1800's are wicked.
XR2i 1800 16v's are POOO.
Does'nt the RS1800 make 130bhp and the XR2i 1800 16v make 105bhp?

yes OJC, the 1.816v lump is a detuned restricted RS1800 lump by way of a restrictive cat/exhaust and other parts.
whiles BHP was similar to the RST dont forget the extra torque the RST would be putting out over the RS1800.

Sorry, but i blew away an XR2 only last week. Didnt challenge really at all, i suppose it didnt help when his car was full of monstrous baseball cap wearing nomads.
