looking into a new set of tyres for the car, as the R888's are wearing out far too fast

brand new you get 5mm tread!

What have people had before, and you reviews...

iv had Nankangs - do the job, grips quite well

Toyo Proxies, hated them, squeeled when pushing, even through not no the limit

Pirrile P6000, utter shit, will spin all the way through 2nd! even with diff.

Now these look like the perfect tyres!!

I was going to go for the Uniroyals on the XE. But it soon fell through and I ended up just getting Eagle F1's. Best 'mistake' of my life, I can't fault them at all - I actually shit it a good bit before they let go in a corner in the soaking wet. Highly recommended.

I find Avon quite good for fast road, but never been on track.

Then again I live in the highlands, it's like one massive track everyhwere

Very good tyres, but problems with wire's being exposed on the inside edge put's me off them.

We've had loads back for claims.

Steer clear of Pradas mate

I got 2k miles out of them on my astra, and they are deadly in the wet.

that bad, well since it sounds like the uniroyals come with almost 9mm tread (compared to most have 7) might have to splash out abit more!

Shit, wires showing when brand new? And I've heard the same about the Paradas, was a boy in a Focus ST that was saying they're not great in the wet.

Dunlop Sports are very good. I'd deffo have a full set of these again if i could get them for a decent price.

Currently have Mich Energy which are a bit better grip wise than the Dunlops but are wearing pretty quick.

Continential Premium are also very good but wear very quickly.

Kumho will last a life time, had these on the Paxo. Pretty shit for grip though!

All will come with 8mm warren, apart from the track tyres. (R888's etc)

Michelin pilot exalto's are pretty good, but they quite expensive.

I was always told throughout my career that all new road tyres were 8mm across the central 3quarters when new.

Never questioned it, and everyone Ive checked has been.

Apart from the r888

same % grip as R888's

Doubt it some how the % on them is a rating and not a comparison between tyres!

No way will they have the same grip as R888's.

Go and buy some more R888's you tight git

uniroyals were great on my corsa, was only a 1.2 though

pirelli's were not so good on my fiesta

continentals weren't too bad on the focus, but prefer the vredesteins, not sure you can get them under 17'' though.

i'd go with the uniroyals myself, very good for a budget tyre
