Hi everyone am fairly new to corsasport forums, what it is i have just bought a corsa gsi c20xe from a friend who bought and got banned straight away.. oops, but when he got it it needed an mot and he never got round to it so i am now lookin to get mot done, it has a powerflow system on it and a piece of flexi pipe from manifold to downpipe about 6" long and this has a hole in it, just wondering if i will need another piece of flexi pipe puttin on for mot or can i just weild a pipe on? also the speedo doesnt work (the car is an m reg gsi, engine is the none dizzy cap, got coil pack i think but i not mechanic) can i get a speedo or do i need to change dials from older gsi as i have been told it could be electronic? if anyone can help would be very greatful!

Can you not get a new piece of flexi? If not, then yes just weld a pipe on.

And you don't need a speedo/ mileometer for MOT.

i could prob get a flexi from exhaust place i suppose just thought it might be quicker and easier to wield pipe on but wasnt sure if it can still pass ? and i didnt no about the speedo not bein needed for mot, do u no how i would go about gettin it sorted anyway ?

You don't need a working speedo for an MOT, The car is not tested on road so wouldn't be testible anyway.
You don't even need rear fogs.

If your spare tyre is fooked take it out as you dont need one in the car but if its there then it has to be checked.

ok another thing now, just wondering the corsa got v6 breaks on it, can i fit 15" wheels on it or not? my mate is buyin 1 tomorrow and the guy said its got v6 breaks and cav slabs are on it?? i thought it was 16s only, it has a set of 16s on it now but i dont think the offset is right, she goin in for mot on monday cant wait!! will get some pics up wen all sorted

Quite a few 15's will struggle with V6 brakes. Things like Comp Mo's will have no problem.

What is?

Plenty of 15's will fit over V6 brakes.

Cesaros will fit over V6 brakes.Tried and tested.
As for the flexi,dont waste your time welding a pipe in its place as you will just need to cut it off and replace it with a flexi.The engine moves back and forth so the exhaust needs some movement in it or it will just snap.Unless the engine has been fitted with solid engine mounts.
As for the speedo,do your current clocks start at 0mph or 10mph??

i will find out in a bit as the car is not at mine and i cant remember lol, cesaro's it is then, the engine has been put in with propa mounts accortin to the guy who gona do mot but i gona try find a flexi pipe anyway. will let u no about the spedo asap.

If the speedo starts at 0mph,its electrical drive,if it starts at 10mph,its cable driven.

k so my engine is not the dizzy type so what do i want it to be ? 10 mph start ? if its wrong how do i go about gettin it workin?

i "think" my clocks start at 10 mph (will no for defo at about 9pm) so does that mean i just need to get speedo cable? were good place to get 1?

Yeah all you need is a speedo cable if you have mechanical clocks.Its maybe just no screwed in so check that 1st.

right clocks been checked and they start at 10 mph made up now, so i gona check for a speedo cable n if it snapped or not, thanks for ya help
