I know nobody recommends it but I know alot of people do it.
What it is, I bought some coilovers by TA Technix for the B. The fronts are easily low enough, but the rears don't make it sit as low as I would like, even with adjusters removed.
So if I was to cut them until I can afford some proper custom ones, do I take it off the top of the spring or the bottom where the adjuster would go??
Is there a certain place to cut, ie are the ends of the coils in a specific position etc??
Help would be much appreciated cheers.

just take them out and ride on the bumpstops for abit untill you can get some others. rear vaux springs aint the easiest things to cut and make work due to the shape of them

ride on the bump stops? lol, well yeah I couldn't work out where to cut them cause of the shape of them, like, they would be slack due to the size of the hole when cut

the was a topic in general chat a few months ago about chopping the front springs. apparently they ake are front springs by the metre in the factory and then just cut them to length so its safe to do the front springs

im with mark on this chopped springs are fine and they don't handle any worse in my opinion then normal springs.
it sits lower then that now as i've cut them a tiny bit more, it sits just past halfway on the tyre
only problem with cut springs is you have to change them over for mots but its no different to having a decat in my opinion

only poundage of the spring mate but go for it, you can use it as a test spring and get the height right then copy it over to the lowering spring
