Good afternoon all you fans of the great outdoors and sleeping under nylon/canvas/vinyl.
Can anyone educate me as to who makes the best tents please?
Are Khyam very good?
Are there better makes?
A multi occupancy unit with separate sleeping and living areas would be ideal for my application if this makes any difference.
I would prefer not to be cooked to death while I sleep if this is at all possible.
Many thanks in advance.

Sleeping in the tent at night is OK it's during the day that you will "cook" inside.
Make sure you get a tent that you can stand up in - those little ones are shit

Yeah, don't I just know Sam. Been there, done that, bought the Tee shirt etc.
Waking up full of booze after two hours sleep in the worlds smallest, hottest, brightest tent in Woolacoombe was pretty far from my idea of enjoyment.

We often go camping, I was looking into the idea of hiring a motorhome (stupidly expensive) or hiring/buying a caravan as my car has a towbar thing at the back (also stupidly expensive for anything half decent).

Cheers chaps.
It's not usually my sort of thing.
I've only ever done it twice and the second time was as an adult so ended up quite unpleasant.
Don't have any of my own gear and am being forced into going to Bestival in September.
Should be great but dreading the camping bit.
There'll be seven of us so either two massive tents or one funking huge one will be required.
A while back, the Gadget Show rated tents and Khyam came out very good in tests, albeit quite pricey.

The smallest Yurt is only for two to three adults and costs £400.00 to RENT for the weekend.
They go right up to twelve hundred quid for a 15+ adult unit.
These prices are all unfurnished. They actually charge you between £100 and £320 extra for furnishings.
Thieving arabs.
The one we'd need would be £680 unfurnished.
That's what made me think, right, what can I get in the way of ludicrous tents for less than that.

I have a Khyam. It's very good, but they class it as "Quick-erect" which I don't really agree with.
I have this one:

Get an Outwell. They are really well made.
I've got this one http://www.yeomansoutdoors.co.uk/products.asp?recnumber=4083 Can comfortably fit a double matress in the bedroom when you take the central partition down.
Mum & Stepdad have this one, bit bigger than mine http://www.yeomansoutdoors.co.uk/products.asp?recnumber=92

Well ive only done it once and that was in very strong winds. Probably took us a couple of hours.
Without the winds it probably could be done in an hour with a few of you.
