hi all...
wen i got my corsa it had a shit battery, so i put my sealed Dephi Freedom 55ma (ma = milli amps lol) battery from my old car in...now thats about to die im gonna get a new one.
so what battery should i get? i have a fair bit of ice so i was thinkin of gettin a 65ma battery (the standard corsa battery is 45ma). i can get one for about £50...ideally id get a deep cycle yellow top one, but they r like £175 and i dont really want to spend more than £60!
so wat should i get?
cheers,
james

Um, it won't be mA, as your ICE will be pulling 10's of amps ;-)
Best bet for a cheap battery is to fit a diesel corsa battery. These have a larger current rating due to the startup needs of the diesel, and shouldn't set you back too much.
Also, with the ICE, it might be a bad idea to get a capacitor to smooth the supply for those deep notes. Depending on what amps you've got, 1F should cover it.

Battery probably says 45Ah on it, which is amp-hours, which means the battery capacity can provide 45 amps for one hour without the engine running.

just get a vaux battery for the diesel models, this will be plenty enough for loads of ice too.

yeah Ive got a cav battery in mine, fits straight in, but can still get the dash to all go out, and the revs to drop when the bass kicks in, must get a cap, if I keep the box and amp.

I have bought a Halfords Calcium battery for a 1.7 Dti Corsa. Much better than the original, stops the headlights dimming under bass. Cost £65.

Have you guys ever thought of the Problem, that your power alternator cannot charge a batterie completely if it has more than 50Ah? It cuts the batteries lifetime down. You have to upgrade your alternator too. Take one from a vectra, thats gonna fit.
