1.2 16V ('99)

Starts up fine, but idles a little lumpy i must admit, when given a bit more force on the acceerator (sometimes the fulll beans) it hesitates and then climbs slowly and unevenly before gettin to 3000rpm when it acts normal and flies up the rest of the rev range, does this until its been driven a mle or two / had chance to warm up a little.

any ideas?

engine mods consists of drilled / derestricted airbox with k&n panel filter

janspeed backbbox

engine acts nomal apart from the above (fuel consumption, heating up etc)

cheers faz x

My first thought was AFM

It's the plug thing on the pipe between the inlet and the airbox, that's the best I can do at describing it

Its the plug on the pipe leading from the airbox to the inlet, in the middle of the clips

On a side note, like what you've done with the plug cover

And that rocker cover cleaned up really well, what did you use?

check your air intake pipes for a block might find a squirrel in there or something if you unscrew the afm u will more than likely shear them off if you go to a scrappy take the casing for it and dont touch the resistor on the inside or you will f**k it up also check your stepper motor that controls idle speed have a look at your choke aswell make sure its not sticking!!

1.2 16v's don't have chokes The ECU tells for fuel to go in, basically an electronic choke.

Nice Hadn't thought of using anything that harsh on mine, I used some interior shampoo and a brillo pad last time Looked ok, but still dull and had black spots on it.
