£850, 20000 miles, bodywork in very good condition. Had a small test ride round the town its been sold in, my god it feels solid compared to the RS (which is 8 years its junior)

Pick her up on Saturday and have a nice 50 mile trip down motorways and A roads to get a bit used to it, cant wait

edit - Anyone want to buy a good, but cosmetically challenged RS125?

Considering the condition of it you wouldnt expect it to be getting on for 20 years old, its nearly as old as me

Looks tidy. Nice engine, fairly reliable out of all the 400's. Made right up till about 1999 so plenty of stockists of spares.

You have got a SUPERB little bike there, trust me!!!!!!

Basically, its a out and out race bike for the road. Its quite similar as a WSB ZXR750 of its day. Quite track focussed, very revvy happy engine.

It'll do about 135mph flat out, but weighs as much as a peice of tissue paper.

My old man and his best friend had two super rare Maroon/reddish coloured ones, with matching standard reg plate.

J61OKP
J62OKP

I still remember the reg plates!!!! Always made great viewing to see the two rare coloured ones together. They added some gold touches, they looked fannytastic.

Hope you don't get any issues with it, but honestly, you have got a fantastic little bike there!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, btw, white/green was the most common.

Followed by Blue (nice blue)

Then Red.

Does it have the original exhaust? My god, before new lightweight rear cans on bikes, the things used to weigh loads. Think we weighed his old rear can alone, at 15kg!!!!! The new carbon one weighed 2.6kg

VXR, you got a soft spot for these by any chance?? AFAIK its completely standard, the exhaust has a BSAU stamp in it, and most 'race' cans arent technically legal are they.....

Dont think Ill be selling it on quite yet, im hoping it lasts me a good long time, I may look to upgrade the exhaust if it really does weigh that much, but I must admit I like things to weigh a bit, makes them feel that bit more solid

Cant wait to open it up a little bit on M180, the guy who sold me it told me how he was out riding with a mate and they were doing wheelie grand prixs, going past coppers at 100mph going the opposite way, they didnt even bother turning round because they knew they wouldnt catch them

edit - for anyone thinking they quite fancy a 400 but have no NCB or anything: 21 M, garaged, disc lock, 5000 miles commuting, TPFT £205

£100 cheaper with the exact same details than the RS125

You do the CBT again

2 years on a CBT to take your theory, pass mod 1 and pass mod 2 either on A2 or A (A being 'DAS').

edit - dont let your CBT run out part way through taking the modules though, you need a valid CBT cert to turn up at the test centre, and unless you know a friendly tester, thats another £100 basically wasted

Rich - I know, Ive only ridden it for about 5 miles but I love the sound of it, even at the piddly 6k I got the revs up to, any faster and I would have been breaking the speed limit in 1st

Im hoping it keeps its value well, if I look after it properly and service it no reason why I shouldnt be able to break even or even sell it for more when it does come to it, what with the limited availability of 400s somewhat these days

You did the A2 route didn't you mate? What's it's acceleration like with the restriction? Or haven't you bothered like most people I know

BTW, who you got your insurance with because that seems very reasonable?

Its not restricted no, I might look into, depends how paranoid I am / how much it will cost. If its gonna cost half the price of bike then I probably wont bother, ive seen a vid on YT of it restricted vs derestricted and the difference is unbelievable.

Insurance was gained from BikeInsurer - MCE
