unlucky... i've done similar with a camera before (dropped it in my pint)... it was fucked.
Tried everything to dry it out and get it working... in the end I just enjoyed the entertainment of smashing it up.
Here's one that kept me and my mates amused... Go put the 'damaged object' in the street attached with a little piece of cotton...
Wait for someone to walk up to it and go to pick it up and then drag it along the road
We ended up smashing my camera to bits lobbing it at walls, stamping on it, playing a game of cricket using it as the ball etc.
Was at least entertaining

DONT dry it out with anything....let it dry out itself, rinse it first like matt said, if you try dry it, it will fry all the connections inside and definately wont work, leave it by a radiator or in an airing cupboard to dry out, will need to be left about 2 days,

Why can't people concentrate on natural bodily functions without a need to be on the phone at the same time

As others have said, stick it in an airing cupboard. Mate dropped her phone down the toilet and the camera had a bubble effect!

As long as you don't try and turn it on while it's wet then it should be fine. Rinse it out and leave it to dry somewhere warm for a day or two and then try it. If you've already tried turning it on while it was wet then start filling in the form for a new one.

That doesn't apply with iphones, the battery can't be removed so there is constant risk.
That's not to say it can't just start working again but it's much less likely.
