Ive been suffering with constant blocked/stuffy nose for about 5/6 months now. The doc gave me a course of nose spray for 3 months, which did nothing, then im now on my 3rd month of steriod nose drops, which havent really made much difference, except stopping dizzy spells.
I was reading up on it online and see that theres some kinda craze for people with allergies and nasal problem, where they have nasal irrigation.
Its quite a weird feeling, u basically pour a saline solution in one side of your nose, and it comes out the other side.
So i went and bought a kit from boots, and its made me be able to breathe nearly normal for the 1st time in months, im amazed.
Anyone else tried it??

u get 50 packets of the stuff, but its only salt tbh. u can just use normal salt from what ive read.
u use 1 packet per bottle, which does both sides. It says twice a day, but im gonna just use it once a day at the min, other wise it will only last 25 days!

lol. post ure feelings after!
I read loads about it earlier, and alot of people were saying how they have been on steriod drops etc for yearsd, and after trying it, were fine after a week or so.
if you have the problem of not being able to breathe, id say 100% that 15 quid is nothing in the event it will cure it.

Basically yea, it breaks up the mucas, and clears out dust and stuff thats causing a reaction/swelling etc.
Its supposedly what alot of people are being told to use by the ENT surgeons now, as its so effective.

I think it will help me so much, being a mechanic and constantly working in very dusty areas. When i get home from work, i get so much black dusty stuff out my noses when i blow it, this will clear it all out, and its gotta help me no end

yea, i also read that most people in india use it like a toothbrush, basically all the time.
Dust cant do you anygood, the stuff that comes out of my nose after work it crazy. I think its most of the reason why i cant breathe now, cos of the irritaion.
SOmething else i read, which may not be right is, the most common trip to the docs in america is due to breathing problems due to blocked nose.

I had o have my nose quarterised(sp), about 18 years ago because i suffered with a simular problem of bunged up sinuses.
they basically burnt out the bone and made the holes bigger i think.

Doctor said my dad has to have this, think this is what I may need too, with them saying my dad needs it and we have the exact same problems. Was it bad?
Edit: Because no matter how much I blow, fuck all comes out

tbh I was 12 at the time so can't remember much.
All I know is that my nose/sinus's throbbed for a while.
I had to wear a what they called a donkey(bandaging with cotton wool in under the nose and tied round the head) for week to soak uk the seepage, woke up after the op on a pillow soaked in blood and thought WTF!
I also wasn't allowed out side for 2 weeks so was house bound.
But was the best thing ever as for 18 years now I rarely get bunged up.
And I used to almost have a permanent cold.
